About Me
I was born and raised in New Jersey. During my teenage and early adult years I struggled to find my way. I turned to drugs and alcohol to cope with the many issues in my life I was afraid to address. I spent many years suffering and hurting the people close to me. It took multiple years of being in and causing pain before I was ready to try something different. Fortunately, I chose to be admitted to an inpatient facility and spent the next four months doing the most difficult work I have ever done. With a lot of help, I was able to understand that drug use wasn’t really my problem. Drugs were rather a symptom of my problem. I had been using drugs to escape the pain in my life that I was unwilling to look at. Slowly, I started to address the things I had been running from for so long and my life began to change. I began a daily meditation practice that helped me to stay grounded while addressing very painful elements of my life. After leaving treatment, I chose to begin a career in the treatment industry so I could begin to give back to those who suffer as I did.
I spent several years learning about the industry while working at various treatment facilities. During this time, I also continued to learn about other treatment modalities and healing practices that helped further transform my life.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my journey, it’s that recovery doesn’t happen alone. Recovery is a process that asks us to humble ourselves and ask for help. I found early sobriety to be extremely challenging because I wasn’t aware of all the support services that were available to me at the time. It is because of my experience that I decided to become a mentor for others in early recovery.
As a recovery mentor, it is my goal to help encourage you to do the healing work necessary to create a life of deep meaning and purpose.
